This one is great! It reminds me a bit of post-impressionism. The idea is very beautiful and the overall composition and details are stunning!

Great job, i especially love the shades, though a couple more to increase the depth wouldn't have been a bad idea, the skin is a little out of contrast, a little more saturation would have been even better, and then, why is your painting so dark? It would have looked nicer I think if it had a little more light blue, green and other colors like that, like from a coral reef or something :D

Well..it is pretty dark under the sea. Also, the painting glows a bit...that might be something harder to see unless you see it in real life.

It was done on a 30X40 canvas with acrylics if that helps explain the time any.

Good job, the tails are definitely well done. I like the scaling effect, very fishy looking (pun no intended, lol) +fave

- One thing that looks a bit off to me is their upper body anatomy. The mermaid in the middle mostly. The hourglass shape is a bit exaggerated, only women who corset train get that kind of shape. Also, her breast is visible on her left side. The breasts are more centered, and not visible from the back like that.

-Another thing is the right mermaid. Her back bends out, then bends back in quite a bit. In real life it bends out a bit at the shoulder and shoulder blade and stays straight, but then only curves in a bit in the back. Check out some reference photos to work out the back bend.

-Her rib cage ends too quickly. If you're basing this on human anatomy, you need to continue that straight line before dipping in. Also, it doesn't dip in that much and go out again. The abdominals may dip in a bit, but are pretty straight throughout the abdomen. It also doesn't jut out at the bottom. Like the previous point, check out some anatomy photos online.

Other than that, really awesome job and interesting concept, I especially like the tails you gave them ;D

Thanks for the feedback.

"One thing that looks a bit off to me is their upper body anatomy. The mermaid in the middle mostly. The hourglass shape is a bit exaggerated, only women who corset train get that kind of shape."

What about women who have lower fish bodies and swim most of their lives? Haha.

"Also, her breast is visible on her left side. The breasts are more centered, and not visible from the back like that."

She is leaning a little to the left, depending on the breast size/shape/etc I don't see this being unrealistic.

I do use references, mostly nudes when painting stuff like this. I don't really draw humanoid form very often much. I'm just going to chalk it up to being a fantasy painting.
